Armstrong's Adventures

We are just getting back into the groove of life, following a week without our Ian. He was lucky enough to go to Disneyland with Matt, Marianne and Lily for a whole week! We missed him so much, but he had a great time. He's been talking non-stop about his trip, so we'll be posting about that soon, I'm sure.

While Ian was gone, we had some adventures of our own...

Because it was Rob's week off from school, I put him to work. He's been fixing our mold-infested bathroom. He had to rip out the floor, clean the mold and paint. All that's left to do is tile the floor. I'm looking forward for it to be complete, because we are all currently using one tiny bathroom to get ready. Rob teased that maybe he should share a bathroom with me again, because it would bring us closer together--Um, not so much.

Also, after a bout with pneumonia (no hospital stay this time, thankfully), Ella was able to go to her first day of toddler class. Her teacher's name is Teacher Stacey and she is very nice. Ella had no problem with me leaving and she seemed to enjoy herself. When I came to pick her up, she was sitting at the table, having snack. She thought she was very big, because they drink out of "big kid" cups. She did pretty well with a regular cup, so we've been practicing more at home. Teacher Stacey was impressed with all of Ella's signs and said she had a great day. However, she did ask me, in her politically correct teacher way, "How does Ella follow directions with you?" I just laughed and replied, "She doesn't. She pretty much does what she wants and pretends she doesn't know what we are asking." I guess that's what we need to work on with our "little stinker."

And last but not least, my adventure of the week. I participated in my first real yard sale. I know, it sounds wierd, knowing who my mom is, but I've never been a big yard sell goer or hoster. I didn't want to do too much, but I've had a few old pieces of furniture that have been hanging around various places (mostly Marianne's basement) that needed to go. I was very successful in getting rid of the little things, but not the big ones, namely that dang futon. I swear, it's like a bad penny, I'm never going to get rid of it! I guess it's finally time to just take it to the DI, but with my luck, they won't take it. Anyway, I ended up selling $54.00 worth of stuff, and I bought the cutest toddler bed for Ella, so I was ahead $19.00--not too shabby for my first go round!
